Walking/Free climbing/Jogging/Trekking/Riding These activities can be enjoyed all the way from Umag towards the hinterland of the Buje Region and Istria along the well-marked trails. The jogging along the coastline from Kanegra to Lovrečica is especially attractive. The best locations for free climbing can be found in the Upper Buje Region, the most interesting one being on the steep cliff above the health resort of Istarske Toplice, only 40 km from Umag. The riding centre is located in the Katoro resort.
Water sports The beaches of Istraturist’s hotels, campsites and resorts offer numerous points where it is possible to rent various equipment for water sports: motor boats, canoes, paddle boats, rowing boats, sailing boats, water scooters, kayaks, skis, sailing boards, power boats… You can also join schools and courses for some water sports.
Hunting The tradition of hunting, combined with a care for the natural resources in the valley of the Mirna river and in the Buje Region, have made this area renowned for its partridge, pheasant, woodcock, wild duck, hare, deer and wild boar hunting. The hunting grounds are easily accessible by well-maintained roads in the vicinity of our hotels. A top-level dog training and hunting dog competitions, with the outstanding Istrian gonič (beater), a dog native to this region, attract many dog breeders and hunting enthusiasts.
Hang gliding The runway Stella Maris in Umag provides flights for tourists by delta plane and UL-flying aircraft, organized by AERO Club Umag.
Bowling and boccia A bowling alley with 6 lanes suitable for professional competitions as well as for those who just want to have fun is situated in the Katoro resort. Near the Istraturist’s hotels, campsites and resorts you will also find boccia grounds and mini boccia lanes as an indispensable part of our animation programmes.
Beach volley Numerous beach volley grounds are available on all beaches in Umag as well as on the beaches of Istraturist’s hotels, resorts and campsites. Frequently we organize fun tournaments which you can join if you want to spend an active day on the beach.
Fitness and indoor pools Fitness studios with the latest equipment for a quality work-out are available in our 4* hotels: Sol Umag, Sol Koralj and Sol Garden Istra. Indoor pools are available in hotels: Sol Garden Istra, Sol Umag, Sol Koralj (sea water), Sipar (sea water), Adriatic (sea water).
Sport art centar - mini football, basketball, volleyball, badminton A new sport centre near the hotel complex Sol Garden Istra offers you : three mini football grounds, half size of a regular football ground and two new playgrounds for basketball, volleyball and badminton. The playgounds are surrounded by new covered stands suitable for opening ceremonies on various occasions. All grounds are illuminated with reflectors, guaranteeing quality games in the evening. If necessary, big football grounds and one multipurpose sports hall are available, too.
